Views

The Evolved Art app has three primary views - Library View, Population View, and Turtle View. These views are briefly described below. Please use the links above to investigate these views in more detail.

Library View

This is the main view presented when you open the Evolved Art app. This view presents your population library. The view allows you to preview the details of the populations in your library and provides the ability to open your populations in the Population View. This view also provides the buttons for the slideshow feature, configuration, and app information.

Population View

This view presents the turtles in a population, and implements the features to evolve your population, and manage the turtles in the population. The population view is used to display both populations and gene pools. Because gene pools cannot be evolved, the view will operate slightly differently when displaying gene pools versus populations. These differences are highlighted on the page describing the population view.

Turtle View

This view presents an individual turtle's drawing, program and other details. The view also provides many operations that you can perform with a turtle. You can think of this and your turtle workbench.

Configuration View

This view presents the various options that you can use to customize Evolved Art and its behavior. The most important setting is your author information, which you should set before you begin evolving populations.
